Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ProteinAura (the "Service"), operated by Yugandhar Tripathi as a sole proprietorship based in India. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

1. The Service

ProteinAura is a protein-tracking and gamification app. Free users can log protein, complete daily quests, earn Aura Points (AP), maintain streaks, compete on the 21-day leaderboard, and use the AI features (Lens, Describe, Coach, Chef and plateau reads) within usage limits shown in the app. The only paid product is ProteinAura Pro, a digital software subscription that raises those limits for Snap & Describe logging (30 a day), Chef meal ideas (2 a day) and plateau reads (daily), and adds a morning AI check-in and an ad-free experience. We may change AI usage limits for free and Pro users, and may pause AI features temporarily when demand is high. Pro unlocks software features only — every user earns Aura Points at the same rate, so a subscription never accelerates any reward. Pro is not a purchase of, or a payment for, any physical item.

2. Eligibility & account

• You must be 13 years of age or older.
• Authentication is via X (Twitter) or Google OAuth — you are responsible for the security of those upstream accounts.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to game streaks, leaderboard, or gifts may result in termination and forfeiture of AP and any pending gifts.
• You agree to provide accurate profile information. Significantly inaccurate weight, height, or workout data will produce poor-quality Smart Goal calculations and Coach insights.

3. Pro subscription

• Pricing: ₹799/month or ₹4,999/year (about 47% less than paying monthly). AP unlock: 15,000 AP for 30 days.
• Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly Razorpay subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle until cancelled. AP-unlock subscriptions do not auto-renew.
• Cancellation: cancel anytime from Me → Plan → Manage → Cancel subscription. Pro access continues until the end of the current billing period.

• Price changes: we may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. The new price applies to the next billing cycle; you can cancel before then if you don't want to renew.

4. Aura Points (AP)

• AP is an in-app reward credit. AP has no cash value and cannot be transferred between users, sold, or exchanged outside the Service.
• AP balances are non-refundable and may be adjusted to correct technical errors or abuse.
• AP earned through manipulation, automation, fake entries, or duplicate accounts may be revoked.
• Unused AP is forfeited if your account is terminated for breach of these Terms.

5. Promotional gifts

From time to time we run an optional promotional-gifts program. Gifts and reward boxes are free and are earned or won through ordinary in-app activity — for example logging streaks, finishing high on the 21-day leaderboard, or reaching milestones.

• No purchase necessary. Gifts are never sold and are never purchased with money. Buying or holding a Pro subscription is not required to take part — free users earn and win gifts on the same activity, and a Pro subscription is a payment for software features only, not for any gift.
• Gifts are determined by your activity in the app (streaks, leaderboard standing, milestones) — they are not a game of chance, prize draw, raffle, or lottery, and there is no random or paid-for element.
• Gifts have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged for cash, AP, or any other gift, and are not redeemable against your subscription.
• The promotional-gifts program is offered at our discretion. We may add, change, limit, pause, or withdraw it, or change which gifts are available, at any time without notice.
• We collect a shipping address only if you win a physical gift, and only to deliver that gift. Physical gifts, where offered, ship within India.
• Leaderboard gifts are subject to qualification over the 21-day cycle: at least 19 days logged, at least 19 days meeting your protein goal (counted as at least 50 g), and at least 3 shares. Disqualified entries roll to the next ranked qualified member.
• Community pacers. The leaderboard may include ProteinAura-operated community accounts that log on an automated schedule to set the pace. They are never eligible for prizes, gifts or AP rewards from leaderboard standing.

6. AI features & medical disclaimer

The Lens (food vision), Coach (insights), and Chef (meal suggestions) features are powered by third-party AI models. Their outputs are estimates and suggestions, not medical or nutritional advice. Protein estimations from photos can be off by ±20% or more depending on lighting, angle, and the visibility of the food. Always consult a registered dietitian or physician before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a medical condition or are pregnant.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass authentication or rate limits;
• Upload images that contain other people without consent, illegal content, or content unrelated to food tracking;
• Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others, including via shared X images;
• Submit fraudulent payment instruments;
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. On termination, AP, any pending gifts, and Pro access are forfeited.

9. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim, or ₹5,000 — whichever is greater.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the city where the proprietor is registered, unless a consumer-protection law in your jurisdiction grants you a non-waivable right to a different forum.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be announced in-app and via email. Continued use of the Service after the change date constitutes acceptance.
